Contemporary Home Design in Athens: The Filothei House.
The Filothei House, originally constructed in 1988 as a family residence for four, underwent a comprehensive interior architectural renovation in 2012 to accommodate the evolving needs of its occupants. The design intervention by the Despoina Sotiriou Architecture office, focused on revitalizing the common spaces, establishing a harmonious blend of black and white as the foundational color palette while strategically incorporating vibrant accents through mobile furnishings. A meticulous selection of artworks and decorative elements played a pivotal role in unifying the space and furniture into a cohesive ensemble. The project retained and celebrated the essential architectural elements of the original structure, honoring its initial design and construction while strategically highlighting key features where appropriate.
